ROCKLIN – Junior Erica Waseq has been selected to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team, as announced on Tuesday morning. Waseq earns the award after two national championship appearances in the 2025 spring season.

CSC (College Sports Communicators) is an organization made up of athletic communicators at institutions across the United States and Canada. Nominations for Academic All-District are made by each school's CSC member, and nominees are then voted regionally by district. Select All-District winners then advance to the national ballot for Academic All-American distinction.

Nominees for Academic All-District must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, be a sophomore or above academically, and meet specific performance minimums per sport, such as regional and national ranking in their events.

Waseq competed in five events at the NCCAA Outdoor National Championship, adding to a season that saw her qualify in five additional events at the indoor event.

Her best finish at the indoor championship was a fourth-place posting in the 60m hurdles. Waseq also set a PR of 7.95 seconds in the prelims of the 60m. At the outdoor championship, Waseq placed on the podium in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.49. Her third-place finish earned her an All-American selection.

The sprinter added a new event in the 2025 season, the long jump. Her PR came at the Chico Invitational when her mark of 5.48m established a new program record. She competed in the long jump at both the PacWest Championship and NCCAA Outdoor National Championship.

Waseq was one of five Warriors on the women's side to be honored with NCCAA Scholar-Athlete distinction. She was joined by Elizabeth Caminiti (Nursing), Jaylee Hameister (Liberal Studies), Hailey Hopkins (Master of Business Administration), and Cheyenne Ullrich (Psychology). Men's Track & Field was represented by Cameron Chaddock (Business), Chris Hackney (Teaching), Devon Hammeke (Criminal Justice), Zachary Heberlein (Computer Science), and Jeremiah Price (Graduate Certificate in Leadership).

Selections of Academic All-American status will be announced on July 16.
