Record-Breaking Weekend for Warriors at Wolf Pack Classic

02/07/26

RENO, Nev. – The Jessup women's track and field team delivered a historic performance at the University of Nevada, Reno this weekend, shattering three program records during the three-day Wolf Pack Classic.

Competing against a dense field of talent at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, the Warriors saw milestones fall in the sprints and distance events while showcasing depth across the jumping and throwing pits.

Freshman standout Angela Gladysh continued her meteoric rise in the distance program. On Friday, Gladysh clocked a 5:26.50 in the 1-mile run to claim 15th place and set a new Jessup program record. She returned to the track on Saturday to secure a top-five finish in the 3000m, crossing the line at 10:35.27 to lead the Warriors. Juliet David also competed in both distance events, finishing the mile in 6:09.25 and the 3000m in 11:46.88.

The record book required further revision following a spectacular performance by Mary Stuart in the 800m. Stuart navigated the pack to finish 19th overall with a time of 2:24.27, effectively establishing a new program record for the event. In the shorter distances, senior Erica Waseq maintained her status as one of the fastest in program history. Waseq sprinted to a 7.82-second finish in the 60m dash on Saturday, setting a third program record for the weekend and placing 29th in a deep field of sprinters.

Field events provided a steady stream of highlights throughout the meet. Aurora Osburn notched an 11th-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 10.57m, while also competing in the long jump alongside Waseq and Karsyn Leikauf. In the shot put, Jocelyn Pedretti and Shiloh Vallejos finished nearly side-by-side in the standings, taking 12th and 13th place respectively. Pedretti proved to be one of the busiest Warriors of the weekend, also competing in the 60m hurdles and the 600m.

The weekend began on Thursday with Kayla Carpenter representing Jessup in the pentathlon. Carpenter totaled 2,223 points to finish 14th overall, setting the tone for the multi-day event. Other notable contributions included Kimora Hill-Brown and Jaylee Hameister in the 200m and 60m dashes, as well as Leikauf's performance in the hurdles.

With three new records in hand, the Warriors will remain in Reno for their next test. Jessup is scheduled to return to the track next weekend for the Battle Born Classic, beginning Friday, February 13.
