Warriors Conclude Redwood Classic and Look to Return to Warrior Arena for Home Opener Tuesday

Jessup falls to Oklahoma Baptist and Chico State in Redwood Classic; The Warriors return home Tuesday for 916 Day and a free rally towel giveaway for all fans

ARCATA, Calif. - Jessup Women's Volleyball faced a tough doubleheader on Saturday at Lumberjack Arena, falling in straight sets to both Oklahoma Baptist and Chico State to conclude the Redwood Classic. The Warriors currently sit 2-3 on the season so far.

Jessup opened the day against an aggressive Oklahoma Baptist squad. The Bison showcased strong offensive balance and, despite a spirited push in the second and third sets, the Bison took all three sets against the Warriors (25-13, 25-23, 25-21).

Jessup was led by standout freshman Addisen Hamilton, who tallied seven kills and seven digs. Kemyah Harris contributed eight kills and three blocks, while Jayden Santos added six assists and served efficiently.

The Redwood Classic continued for the Warriors as they laced up for a Saturday night showdown with the Wildcats of Chico State University, who are currently 4-0 on the season.

Despite an intense third set from both squads, Chico State came out on top, taking the third and final set to conclude the game (25-14, 25-13, 29-27).

Kemyah Harris and Lainee McCune led the offensive push for the Warriors with eight kills each. Lauren Toon tallied 15 digs for Jessup on the defensive end.

Jessup will look for a quick turnaround as they face UC Merced on Tuesday, Sept. 16th at 7:00 PM, at Warrior Arena. The Warriors opened their season against the Bobcats of UC Merced in a game that went to all five sets and resulted in the first victory of the season for Jessup.

The exciting home opener for the Warriors will also be 916 Day with a free rally towel giveaway for all fans, presented by Placer Valley Tourism.
