Another action packed week as all fall sports will be in action for the Warriors this week
Men's Golf
The Men's Golf team traveled to nearby Marysville to kick off their season at the Chico State Wildcat Classic. The Warriors placed ninth as a team, breaking even over the three day tournament. Leading the way for the Warriors was Trevor Halloran who, playing individually, placed 14th overall and shot 6-under par for his collegiate best tournament score. The Wildcat Classic also saw the Warriors debut for Jacobus Brakkee, Nick Chavarin, and Sam Cooper who shot even, +1, and +15 respectively.Â
The Warriors will travel to Lacey, Washington for the Kevin Bishop Invite this weekend where they look to continue building off their positive start to the season.Â
Women's Golf
The Women's Golf team competed twice this past week, starting with the RJGA Women's Shootout in Goodyear, AZ before traveling to South Jordan, UT for the Wasatch Invitational. The Warriors, who placed 11th as a team, saw a strong performance from Julianne Canda, who shot +2 for the tournament and placed 6th. Making their Warriors debuts were Natalie Ang and Priscilla Padilla who finished the tournament with scores of +16 and +64.
The Wasatch Invitational, where the Warriors placed 9th among teams from the PacWest and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, saw the debut of Ayla Keith who finished with a score of +35. Natalie Ang scored highest for the Warriors, shooting +10 to place 16th among the field.Â
The Warriors will have the rest of the week off before returning to the green next week at the Menlo Fall Invitational.Â
Women's Volleyball
The Warriors finally got their opportunity to show out in front of the home crowd in their sweep over UC Merced. With an offensive attack led by Kemyah Harris' 16 kills, a defense highlighted by key blocks from Lainee McCune (4) and Addisen Hamilton (3), and offensive orchestration from Kenzie Carpenter's 35 assists, the Warriors were able to secure a well balanced victory in front of the home fans. This was followed by a weekend road trip to Hawaii where, despite strong all around performances from the team, the Warriors fell to Hawai'i Pacific and Chaminade.Â
The Warriors season continues with three games this week, starting on the road at Menlo before a home contest against Dominican (CA) followed by another road game at Fresno Pacific.Â
Men's Soccer
The Men's Soccer team faced off in two hard fought defensive battles last week against CSU Monterey Bay and UC Merced. While Jessup out-shot CSUMB, the Otters were able to convert once which ultimately ended up being the difference in the match up. After going down a goal early on against the Bobcats, Luis Cruz found the back of the net off an assist from Mateo Barth which led to a draw for the Warriors in their final non-conference match up.
Jessup will begin PacWest action this week with Hawai'i Pacific making their visit to the mainland this Thursday in a double header with the women's team.
Women's Soccer
In their final match up before conference play begins, the Women's Soccer team traveled north to Chico to face off against the Wildcats of Chico State. The defense held strong in the first half, conceding only one goal before the Wildcats found the net three more times in the final 45 minutes. Mikayla Olariu led the shot count for the Warriors, firing 2 shots.Â
The Warriors will kick off PacWest play against Hawai'i Pacific in the first game of the double header with the men's team.Â
Cross Country
The men's and women's cross country teams will race this weekend in their lone home meet of the season.Â
