Dupont, Washington - This week, the Warriors wrapped up their second event of the season and the first of their Washington Swing at the Saint Martin Invitational, hosted by Saint Martin University at "The Home Course" in Dupont, Washington.
On the team leader board, Simon Fraser and Western Washington tied for first at -20, with a playoff needed to claim the team title. On the individual side, Ben Crinella of Hawai'i Hilo posted -10 to win by one shot.
For the Warriors, the team recorded rounds of 309 (+21), 290 (+2), and 295 (+7) for a total of +30, finishing 13th out of 15 teams. Individually,
Nicholas Schultz was the Warriors' low finisher with steady rounds of 75-73-74 (+6), placing him tied for 45. Freshman
Jacobus Brakkee was the Warriors ' second-lowest finisher, placing T-49, shooting 73 in both the second and third rounds to finish +8.
Braden Armstrong and
Trevor Halloran both finished tied for 55th at +10. Armstrong carded a 69 (-3) in the second round, while Halloran closed strong with a 70 (-2) in the final round. Rounding out the lineup,
Nick Chavarin finished T-63 at +14.
The Warriors will waste no time getting back into the competition. Tomorrow, they play a practice round at Bellingham Country Club in preparation for the Western Washington Invitational, which takes place Monday and Tuesday (September 29-30) in Bellingham, Washington.
