Bellingham, Washington – The Warriors wrapped up their third event of the fall season and second stop on the Washington Swing at the Western Washington Invitational, hosted at Bellingham Golf & Country Club. 

Day one brought rain throughout the entire day, testing the patience and focus of every team in the field. Despite the harsh conditions, scores remained competitive, with Simon Fraser ultimately surging in the final round with a 9-under team score to capture the team title at -14. 

UBC Okanagan finished second at -11, and host Western Washington rounded out the podium at -8. The Warriors came into the final round in ninth place, posting rounds of 295 and 291. The final round saw the Warriors drop two spots to finish in 11th with a round of 307.

Individually, Jacob Torres of Hawaii Hilo posted -7 for the week to win in a playoff over three other guys from separate schools. 

For the Warriors, Braden Armstrong and Nick Chavarin paced the Warriors, each finishing at +6 and tied for 36th. Armstrong closed with a 76 (+4), while Chavarin matched with a 77 (+5). Freshman Jacobus Brakkee and sophomore Trevor Halloran both finished at +11 (T-54) after carding 77s in the final round. Senior Nicholas Schultz rounded out the lineup, finishing T-71 at +15, with a notable 70 (-2) in the second round.

The Warriors finish the Washington Swing with some solid play to build on as they look to continue their 2025-2026 campaign. Coach Seth Heppner had this to say, "It was an awesome trip, great for team bonding, a lot of memories were built, and it was a great warm-up for the spring season." 

The Jessup Men's Golf Team will compete one final time this Fall, next Monday, October 7th, in a head-to-head match against Dominican (CA) at Grizzly Ranch Golf Club in Portola, California.
