Gladysh Leads Warriors at Pacific Invitational as Women Finish Two Points Shy of Fourth

Jessup's women's squad narrowly misses St. Mary's at Micke Grove, while freshman Ryden Rivera paces the men

10/02/26

LODI, Calif. – The Jessup University cross country teams opened the weekend at the Pacific Invitational on Friday at Micke Grove Golf Course. The women's squad finished fifth of five scoring teams with 130 points, just two behind fourth-place St. Mary's (128). The men did not post a team score.

Sophomore Angela Gladysh led the Warriors in the women's 6K, placing 22nd overall in 22:53.1. Her time was the fastest of any runner from St. Mary's and ahead of every non-Pacific, non-Cal Poly, non-Sacramento State finisher, including the Gaels' top runner, who crossed more than 37 seconds later. Sophomore Juliet David followed in 29th (24:38.3), and freshman Mel Peterson took 33rd (25:26.8). Freshman Jordan Bick finished 42nd (27:19.8), and freshman Hope Garten completed the five-runner scoring group in 51st (38:24.8). All five Warriors finished, scoring 18, 24, 26, 30 and 32 team points. With the margin so close, the result shows how much each place counts for a team scoring its first five finishers.

Cal Poly won the women's team title with 15 points and placed five runners in the top seven. Junior Melisse Djomby Enyawe won the individual race in 21:02.6. Sacramento State was second with 47 points, followed by Pacific (84), St. Mary's (128) and Jessup (130).

On the men's side, freshman Ryden Rivera was the top Warrior, placing 28th in the 8K in 27:34.5 among 57 finishers. Senior Travis Brown was 48th (31:00.1), and junior Oscar Duncan was 55th (37:47.0). Jessup did not have five finishers, so it was not eligible for a team score. Pacific won the men's team title with 27 points, ahead of Sacramento State (43), St. Mary's (75), UC Santa Cruz (77) and Pacific Union (145). Pacific sophomore Jett Davenport won the individual title in 24:47.3.

Jessup will host the PacWest Conference Championships on November 8, according to a published meet schedule.
