Vista, Calif. - Warriors men's golf wrapped up the first of seven tournaments on their spring schedule, competing at the CSU San Marcos Fujikura Invitational in Vista, California.

Freshman Jacobus Brakkee stole the spotlight early, recording nine birdies on day one to sit tied for seventh after the opening round. He continued his strong play during the final round, posting a 2-over 74. He finished tied for 13th, marking his best career finish as a Warrior.

Senior Daniel Johnson also turned in a solid performance, contributing a 3-over 75 in the final round to finish 34th overall. Braden Armstrong posted an 80 in the final round, while Sam Cooper and Nick Chavarin each carded rounds of 82.

As a team, the Warriors fell 3 spots in the final round, finishing tied for 10th out of 13 teams. They also placed second among the four PacWest programs in the field. Head Coach Seth Heppner shared his thoughts following the event, "Our boys this week came out ready to play and did a lot of good things. Obviously, it is not the finish we're looking for, but we proved we can play at this level. Now we just need to sustain it."

The Warriors now turn their attention ahead, as they return to the road in two weeks to compete at the Visit Stockton Invitational at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton, California, on February 23–24.
