ALAMEDA, Calif. – Jessup women's golf was back on the course this week for their second event of the spring season, playing in the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout at Corica Park Golf Course. 

The field, featuring teams from 7 different states and 8 ranked in the top 50, proved to be a great test for the Warriors. 

Senior Jessica Burdick led the way, finishing 20th at 3 over par, shooting a first round 75, followed by an even par 72. Burdick's second round score included four birdies, moving her up seven spots on the leaderboard. Julianne Canda continued her solid play on the season, posting a first round 1 under par, 71, enroute to a T28 finish. Freshman Natalie Ang also found herself as a big contributor for the Warriors, posting rounds of 78 and 77 finishing T50. Keith and Dowd rounded out the Warriors scoring both shooting first round 84s and second round 88s. As a team the Warriors finished in 13 place out of 18 teams.

At the top of the team leaderboard, 16th ranked CSU San Marcos had a domination 10 shot victory shooting 13 under par over Sea Lions of Point Loma. On the individual leaderboard nine players finished the week in red figures with a two way tie for first between Avery Foster of San Marcos and Zoe Garcia of Seattle Pacific at 8 under par.

The Warriors will continue their action, after a week off at home, before heading back down to Southern California for the second time this spring. The Warriors will compete in the Women's Fujikura Invitational in Vista, California at Shadow Ridge Golf Club on March 9th and 10th.
