DOWNEY, Calif. – The Warriors are back on the course as the 2026 spring season officially got underway this week at the LA Spring Kickoff, hosted by Cal State LA at Rio Hondo Golf Course.
The opening round marked Jessup's first competitive action of the spring, with the Warriors took on a strong west coast field in Downey.
Monday's round begins a six-tournament spring for Jessup. The Warriors will make multiple appearances across the coast of California, with a trip out to Good Year, AZ, and Las Vegas for the PacWest Conference Championship to close out the spring season.
The tournament field at the LA Kickoff features 13 teams, 4 of which are ranked in the top 50. Along with Jessup, fellow PacWest opponents include Point Loma, Hawai?i Hilo, Westmont, Dominican, Menlo, and Vanguard, providing an early-season benchmark for the conference championship.
Jessup was led on the opening day by Julianne Canda, who turned in rounds of 76-77. Jessica Burdick followed close behind with a first-round score of 83, bouncing back by posting a 74, while Ayla Keith posted a first-round 76 to help contribute. Natalie Ang posted steady rounds of 81-82. Isabella Dowd posted scores of 86-88.
The final round for the Warriors was marked with continued steady play, as Canda and Burdick led the way. Canda posted a career low at -3/69 to finish T9, her fourth Top 10 finish of the year. Burdick posted a solid round with her finish of 75. While Kieth, Dowd, and Ang all played steady golf, shooting 87, 81, and 80.
At the top of the individual leaderboard, Allie Nguyen from Point Loma would finish in first, shooting -5 for a 3-day total. On the team leaderboard, Point Loma also collected hardware separating themselves from the field winning the tournament by 18 shots. For the Warriors they would climb one spot during the final round to finish the week in 11th out of 13 teams and 5th out of 7 PacWest teams.
The Warriors will look to build momentum as they continue their push into the spring season. They will be back in action at the end of February in Alameda, CA, for the Tim Tierney Shootout hosted by Cal State East Bay. The two day event will take place on February 23rd through the 24th.
