SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — Jessup University concluded its Southern California road trip on Monday with a matchup against Westmont College. In a battle of the Warriors, Jessup fell by a final score of 60-31.

The loss moves Jessup to 3-12 in PacWest play and 5-16 overall.

Jessup struggled offensively in the first 20 minutes of play, as Westmont outscored them 28-10 across the first two quarters. The momentum shifted decisively in the second frame when the Westmont defense held Jessup to just two points. 

Westmont continued to apply pressure in the second half, outscoring Jessup 13-7 in the third quarter and 19-14 in the fourth. Westmont also controlled the glass, out-rebounding Jessup 41-32 while capitalizing on 20 Jessup turnovers.

Laia Pala was the primary offensive bright spot for Jessup, finishing with a team-high 11 points. Andheya Aurelio battled throughout the contest, nearly reaching a double-double with eight points and a game-high nine rebounds.

Jessup will return to its home court this Thursday for a showdown with Fresno Pacific. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 PM.
