Warriors Sweep the Day to Clinch Series Ending Hawaii Road Trip

03/07/26

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

HONOLULU, Hawaii — The Warriors concluded their Hawaii road trip on a high note, securing a series win and a doubleheader sweep against the Chaminade University Silverswords. Jessup dominated game one with a 12-1 mercy-rule victory before gritting out a 2-0 shutout in the nightcap.

The Warriors now move to 8-6 in conference play and 11-12 overall.

"It's been a long 12 days, but I can't say enough about how tough this team fought in their first experience competing on the islands," said Head Coach Brie Campbell. "We had some highs and some lows, but the determination to get better with every game and finish with a pair of wins today showed their focus and determination."

Korrie Almond earned the start in game one and delivered a commanding performance, holding the Silverswords to just one run to seal the run-rule victory.

The Warriors' offense provided massive support for Almond, exploding for 12 runs. The scoring barrage began in the first inning when Maddy Ybarra cleared the bases with a three-run, inside-the-park home run to jump out to a 3-0 lead. The bats remained hot up and down the lineup, allowing Jessup to end the contest early in just five innings.

Nohemi Livingston took the circle for game two and pitched a gem in a pitcher's duel. Supported by "lights-out" defense, the junior transfer kept the Silverswords off the board for the duration of the contest.

After several scoreless innings, freshman Aaliyah Mendoza broke the deadlock with an RBI single to give Jessup the lead. Maliyah Lawson followed up with a sacrifice fly to add an insurance run, providing the final 2-0 margin.

"After yesterday's finish, I couldn't be more proud of our pitchers and how they came back stronger—not just physically, but mentally," Campbell added. "For all three pitchers to earn a win this series was the icing on the cake. Our offense found a way against a dominant pitcher, 'passing the bat' and coming through down the stretch. It took a total team effort."

The Warriors were prolific during their time in the islands, racking up 13 triples and 86 total runs over 10 games against their Hawaii PacWest foes and clinching two series wins.

"We're looking forward to heading home and continuing our conference schedule," said Campbell. "It's a tough conference, so every game counts. We've found our offensive rhythm both in the box and on the base paths; now it's time to tighten up the defense and continue moving forward at home."

The Warriors return to the mainland to face Vanguard University at Foskett Regional Park on March 13, with first pitch scheduled for 3:00 PM.
