Warriors End 2026 Season at PacWest Championships

05/07/26

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

LA MIRADA, Calif. — The 2026 season for the Warriors concluded in storybook fashion at the PacWest Championships on Wednesday night. The fourth-seeded Warriors finished third in the tournament, ending the program's season on a high note in their first year of PacWest postseason eligibility following the NCAA transition.

The Warriors finished the year fourth in the conference standings and third in the PacWest tournament, posting a 26-24 overall record and a 20-14 mark in conference play.

Facing a do-or-die elimination game with one loss already against them, Jessup took on the Vulcans of Hawaii Hilo in the first matchup of the day. The two squads had last met in Hilo, where they split the series evenly.

The Jessup bats were explosive, racking up 10 runs in the opener. The Warriors ignited in the second inning, scoring seven runs to gain massive momentum. While Hilo managed to scratch across two runs, Jessup added insurance runs to cushion their lead and secure a 10-2 victory. Starting pitcher Korrie Almond threw a gem, tossing a complete seven-inning game to earn the postseason win.

Game two proved to be a heartbreaker for the Jessup squad as they fell 11-2 to Biola University. These teams last squared off at American River College in April—a series plagued by poor weather where Biola swept all four conference games.

The Eagles jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead, but the Warriors refused to go quietly. Aaliyah Tinoco hit a solo blast to put Jessup on the board.

Senior Maddy Ybarra also went deep for the Warriors, launching a leadoff solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning. This home run secured Ybarra's place in the Jessup record books as it marked her 44th career home run, setting a new program record for most home runs in Jessup history. She concludes her final year in a Warrior uniform with a stellar .404 batting average.

Ultimately, the Eagles' offense stayed hot as they plated 11 runs to finalize the score 11-2 and mark the end of the Warriors' season.

This historic season was a milestone for the program under the leadership of head coach Brie Campbell in her seventh season. She was supported by associate head coach Mark Watson and assistant coaches Kayla Altheide, Kaylee Winn, and Colleen Marchi. The 2026 campaign also marks the departure of three graduating seniors: Neva Adams, Kylie Nunes, and Maddy Ybarra.
