SONOMA, CA- Jessup men's golf competed in the Dominican Spring Invite in Sonoma at Sonoma Golf Club.

The 54-hole event, hosted by fellow PacWest Member Dominican University, featured 7 teams from three states. For the Warriors, the week proved to be incredibly successful both individually and as a team. Freshman Jacobus Brakkee continued his stellar performance on the year, posting rounds of 69-78-69 en route to an even par week, leading to a career-best runner-up finish.

As a team, the Warriors battled throughout the week, posting rounds of two-over-par, eleven-over-par, and four-over-par to finish runner-up behind CSU Dominguez Hills. Along with Brakkee's great play, three of the other four Warriors finished in T12. Braden Armstrong, Nick Chavarin, and Paolo Castaneda all posted final scores of six-over-par, leading to the team's success. Senior Jerah Venkaiya rounded out the Warriors' scoring with a T25 finish at twelve-over-par, posting a critical 74 in the first round, which helped the Warriors sit in solo first. 

For the Warriors, this week's runner-up finish marks the best team finish under Head Coach Seth Heppner's leadership. The strong showing highlights the program's continued growth and consistency this season, with multiple contributors stepping up in key moments. 

With momentum building and confidence high, the Warriors now turn their attention to the next event. After a short week at home, the Warriors will be back on the road next Monday and Tuesday for their final event before conference, the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational hosted at Turlock Country Club on April 13th and 14th.
