ROCKLIN, Calif. - Jessup University softball (25-22, 20-14 PacWest) is headed to La Mirada, to compete in the four-team PacWest Conference Championships which takes place May 5th-7th. 

The postseason has officially arrived. Fresh off a dominant close to the 2026 regular season, Jessup enters the tournament as the No. 4 seed and will take on top-seeded Concordia University Irvine (40-14, 29-7 PacWest) tomorrow afternoon at Freedom Field.

The Warriors ride a wave of momentum into Tuesday's opener. Jessup closed out the regular season on a four-game winning streak, capped by a brilliant Senior Day sweep over Dominican University of California. The Warrior offense has been firing on all cylinders, led by historic recent performances from Evangelina Chavarria, who tied a program single-game record with seven RBIs, and the consistently hot bat of Maddy Ybarra. Korrie Almond has also been a steady force in the circle, bringing confidence to the Warriors' defense when it matters most.

Tuesday's matchup against No. 1 seed Concordia is set for 2:00 p.m. The Warriors and Golden Eagles met for a four-game series in Sacramento back in February. While Concordia took three of those four early-season matchups, the Warriors proved they have what it takes to hang with the conference's top team, capturing a hard-fought 3-2 victory in game two of the series.

With both teams' offenses capable of putting up big numbers, as seen in their high-scoring February clashes, Jessup's hot bats will look to set the tone early in the double-elimination format.

At stake in La Mirada is an automatic bid to the NCAA West Region Championships, scheduled for May 14-16. With a clean slate in the postseason, the Warriors have their sights firmly set on making a deep run and keeping their championship dreams alive.
