ROCKLIN, Calif. - The Jessup University Warriors Women's Soccer team opens its regular season at Warrior Field against San Francisco State on August 27 before hosting Seattle Pacific on August 29 to close out an intense opening homestand. Coming off a 2025 campaign where the squad posted a 1–10–5 record, the Warriors proved exceptionally tough to beat down the stretch, recording five draws—including gritty PacWest stalemates against Hawaii Pacific (0–0), Biola (1–1), Chaminade (0–0), and Point Loma (1–1).

Non-conference tests against Seattle Pacific, Menlo College (Sept 7), CSU Monterey Bay (Sept 12), UC Merced (Sept 14), and UC Santa Cruz (Sept 26) will provide ideal measuring sticks for match fitness and tactical sharpness before the core conference push. Head coach Amsalu Fantahun noted that the team's commitment during summer preparation has been outstanding, emphasizing that the players are focused on converting last year's structural foundation into early positive results.

This season's schedule features several key redemption matchups where the Warriors are primed to flip close decisions in their favor. After dropping a tight 1–0 contest to Menlo College and a narrow 1–0 battle to Concordia in 2025, Jessup receives immediate opportunities to adjust tactical setups and dictate tempo against both programs. Furthermore, high-scoring battles from last fall—such as a thrilling 4–3 nail-biter against Fresno Pacific—and tight 2–0 setbacks against Dominican University highlight key areas in transitional defense and final-third efficiency that the team is eager to refine. The Warriors host Dominican on September 19 in Rocklin before traveling to San Rafael for the regular-season rematch on October 31.
Coach Fantahun remarked that the squad views these familiar conference clashes as crucial proving grounds, pointing out that sharpening execution in tight late-game windows remains the team's top priority. With a well-established defensive identity already in place, the Warriors enter the fall season focused on pairing defensive discipline with increased attacking intent.

To power this upward trajectory, the squad relies on a seasoned core of key returners, while further strengthened by an impressive incoming group of transfers and freshmen who bring immediate competitive depth. The Warriors bolster their roster with experienced talent like junior goalkeeper Tyler Boren (CSU Monterey Bay), junior midfielders Chloe Silva (Modesto Junior College) and Keydall Cornwell (Las Positas College), alongside versatile additions like Evelyn Albor (Sierra College) and Giselle Torres (San Joaquin Delta College).

Coach Fantahun added that the ultimate goal for this group is to step onto the pitch with unshakeable belief, compete with unrelenting intensity, and establish Warrior Field as a formidable venue throughout the autumn campaign. Supported by a challenging schedule and an uncompromising team culture, the Warriors are primed for a breakthrough year.
