McKinley Names Paine Associate Head Coach

Paine led the Warriors to a record-breaking offensive surge in the 2018 campaign

ROCKLIN, Calif. - Head coach in his second season for Jessup Baseball, Jake McKinley has announced a title change for assistant coach Trevor Paine as the new associate head coach for the Warriors in this 2019 season ahead.

"I believe Trevor is one of the top up and coming coaches in college baseball," leader McKinley said. "His ability to teach valuable information, connect with players on a personal level, and coach with a humble spirit truly makes him one of a kind."

The past season Paine was an integral part of the coaching staff that led to a record-breaking season for the Warriors capped by a GSAC Regular-Season Title, GSAC Championship trophy and the program's first-ever NAIA Opening Round hosted on their home field.

Working directly with the hitters, Paine's line-up was ranked nationally in many categories. The Warriors led the nation in home runs per game (1.621), 6th overall in slugging percentage (.544), 7th in runs batted in (7.707) and top 20 in the country for total hits (649), total runs scored (474), batting average (.331) and total doubles (119).

The program was awarded it's first-ever All-American Second Team award winner in junior Austen Swift who had 18 home runs and ranked 8th in the country overall for the NAIA while also ranked in the top 25 for home runs per game (.327/13th), total bases per game (2.6/15th), runs scored per game (1.21/17th), total bases (143/22nd) and total runs scored (67/22nd).

Jessup baseball continues to grow and make an impact in student-athletes lives and it's coaches like Trevor Paine that exemplify a great work ethic for their program and athletes that crosses over to their athletes working hard for the program.

"Our players and recruits are energized by Trevor every day," McKinley concluded. "Situations improve simply because he's in them."
