ROCKLIN, Calif. - Saturday's basketball contests between William Jessup University and San Diego Christian College have been postponed.
An official statement from Athletic Director
Lance Von Vogt reads:
"It is unfortunate that we will not be able to open our men's and women's conference basketball season versus San Diego Christian on Saturday; however, we are encouraged that our student-athletes are healthy and continue to prepare for their games to come. We look forward to getting back on the court soon as well as opening up our GSAC conference schedule next weekend at ACU."
The Warriors were preparing to host the Hawks Saturday in what was the highly anticipated GSAC season opener. At this time, the Warriors are set to open conference play next week when they travel to Arizona Christian University.
For Jessup Men's Basketball, Saturday was to serve as the first home game for their 2020-21 season. Women's basketball has previously played in Warrior Arena one time this season, a victory over Bethesda on Halloween.
There are currently no positive COVID-19 cases within the Jessup basketball programs. The game has been canceled due to contact tracing with San Diego Christian.
Jessup Athletics will be providing updates as they are known, such as a new date for the matchup against the Hawks.
