Two Warriors Sit in the Top-Five After Round One at the TMU Dutch Classic

Gurman Kaur-Knight currently sits in a two-way tie for first; Dominic Salamone is tied for fifth after day one

SOLVANG, Calif. – The fall season continued for Jessup Golf on Monday as the Warriors hit the course in Southern California for the first rounds of the TMU Dutch Classic. Hoping to improve from their performance in Arizona two weeks ago, two Warriors find themselves in the top-five heading into Tuesday.

In the men's tournament, Dominic Salomone posted his best round of the season, a two-over 74 that has him sitting in fifth place. It's a three-shot improvement from Salamone's best round at the OUAZ Fall Invite, as he is currently six shots off the leader Jack Dudeck of The Master's University.

Once again, leading the Jessup women is reigning NAIA Runner-Up Gurman Kaur-Knight, whose five-over round of 77 is tied for first place with Mikayla Sgrillo of Ottawa (AZ).

Back to the men's competition, rounding out the pack of Warriors is Karson Heeter (T27, +11), Drake Kovaly (T32, +12), Aleksander Kjellevand (43, +17), and Rex Rollins (T48, +22). As a team, the Jessup men are in eighth place.

The Jessup women are currently in seventh place as a team. Hailey Morton (29, +22), Clarissa Zulueta (T30, +23), Macy Anderson (T37, +27), and Irene Logan (43, +40) round out the field.

Ottawa (AZ) currently leads the men's competition, a field of ten schools, while Menlo sits atop the nine-team leaderboard on the women's side. All competing schools are from the GSAC, with the lone exception being Marymount California University.

The tournament will wrap up on Tuesday as both the men and the women of Jessup golf will hit the course for round two.

The TMU Dutch Classic is being played at Alisal Ranch Golf Club, a par 72 course. It will be the final competition for the Warriors before their home tournament next week at Whitney Oaks Golf Club in Rocklin.
