SOLVANG, Calif.— Day two of the TMU Dutch Classic took place in Southern California on Tuesday. With the Warriors competing in their second tournament of the season, a pair of top-five finishes have sparked some momentum as the fall season rolls on.
On the women's side, after wrapping up round one in a tie for first place,
Gurman Kaur-Knight played consistent golf as she shot her second consecutive round of 77 (+5). Finishing the tournament ten-over after 36-holes, Kaur-Knight takes home second place.
The tournament was won by Menlo College's Dasa Urbankova, who posted the tournament's best round, a four-under 68.
After ending day one tied for fifth,
Dominic Salomone led the Jessup men again on day two with a four-over round of 76. The showing on the final 18-holes was good enough to keep him tied for fifth, the highest finish for the Jessup men this season.
The Jessup men rounded out their performance with a ninth-place finish. Others in the field included
Karson Heeter (+22),
Drake Kovaly (+29),
Aleksander Kjellevand (+32), and
Rex Rollins (+41).
In the field for the women's competition included
Hailey Morton (+40),
Macy Anderson (+45),
Clarissa Zulueta (+46), and
Irene Logan (+75). Morton, Anderson, and Logan improved on their round one performances, while Zueleta was just a shot off her Monday scorecard.
The Jessup women would hold their positioning from day one, finishing in seventh.
Menlo would remain on top on day two of the women's competition, taking the tournament out of nine competing schools. Ottawa (AZ) took the title in the ten-team men's field with a team score of just three-over.
The Warriors will not have to travel for their next competition, as in one week, Jessup will host the Jessup Fall Invitational at Whitney Oaks Golf Club in Rocklin. Round one begins on Tuesday, with the tournament wrapping up Wednesday afternoon.
