ROCKLIN, Calif. – The final round of the 2021 Jessup Fall Invitational began Wednesday morning from Whitney Oaks Golf Club. With heavy rain expected in the forecast, golfers were treated to surprisingly beautiful weather out on the golf course, as the final 18 holes were played with little wind and no delay.
Entering Wednesday with just a one-shot lead was Jessup's
Gurman Kaur-Knight. Kaur-Knight followed up a 75 (+4) on Tuesday with an 80 (+9) on Wednesday to finish fourth overall. Menlo's Dasa Urbankova (+8) won the women's tournament after her one-under round of 70 Wednesday.
Dominic Salomone (+36) finishes tenth overall, leading the Warriors by just three strokes over
Rex Rollins (+39), who takes 11th after back-to-back strong showings on the back-nine of Whitney Oaks Golf Club.
Winning the men's tournament was Providence Christian's Nicholas Chavez (+6). Chavez came into Wednesday even-par through two rounds and finished with a 77 to edge out Menlo's Christian Ingul (+9) by three strokes.
Menlo would wrap up the tournament in first place for both the men's and women's competitions. Jessup took second in the women's field and third in the men's.
Low numbers were hard to come by this week at Whitney Oaks, as the average score in the men's tournament was 85.21, while the average for the women was 93.84.
In the men's competition, the 523-yard par-five hole 11 proved the most challenging as players averaged +1.42 over-par on the hole. The 352-yard par-four second was the most difficult for the women, scoring at +1.81 over par.
Next on the fall schedule for the Warriors is their shortest trip thus far, as the Warriors will hit the road for one of the golf capitals of America, Carmel, CA. Menlo College will host the Pacific Coast Highway Invitational November 1 – 2 at Carmel Valley Ranch Golf Club.
