Seven PRs Highlight the San Francisco State Invite

Shykowski, Ceremony, and Gardea PR in the 6K; Claasen, Brown, Heberlien, and Conklin PR in the 8k

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Off to the city went the Warriors on Friday as they took part in the San Francisco State Invitational. Jessup continues to post faster times as the season progresses, putting them in a good position for the upcoming conference championship.

The race Friday took place at San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, a location familiar to those members of the Warriors who returned from a season ago. Jessup ran at this same location twice in the 2021 season.

Leading the Jessup women for the fourth race in a row this year was Azalea Prince. Prince ran the 6k at a time of 23:22, just six seconds off her PR in this event.

While Prince could not finish with a new PR, three of her teammates did. Setting new personal best times in the women's 6k was Elizabeth Shykowski (25:04), Lacy Ceremony (25:44), and Vivianna Gardea (27:13).

Haley Borjas (25:03) and Hailey Hopkins (29:00) were also in the field.

Over to the men's race, finishing with the top time on the Warriors was Noah Claasen, who crossed the finish line at 28:26. The time is a new PR for Claasen in the men's 8k.

Behind Claasen were three of his teammates who also set new PRs in the 8k. Travis Brown (28:59), Zachary Heberlein (29:03), and Jonathan Conklin (29:06) all impressed with new top times for their collegiate career.

Luciano Linares (29:57) and Ethan Loomis (31:44) round out the pack of Warriors.

Both the men's and women's teams took 9th out of 11 competing schools. Of those 11 schools, only Jessup and Pacific Union came from the NAIA ranks.

The Warriors continue their season next weekend at the Bronco Invitational, hosted by Santa Clara.
