ROCKLIN, Calif. – On the heels of a conference championship season, three Warriors are adding awards to their resume. In recognition of their efforts on the court and in the classroom, a trio of Jessup Volleyball players were selected to the CSC Academic All-District team.
CSC (College Sports Communicators), formally known as CoSIDA, is an organization made up of more than 3,200 members who represent their respective universities in various communication roles. All-District representatives are nominated by their universities' respective CSC representative and are voted through a national ballot distributed to members of the organization.
Selected to the 2022 Academic All-District team for women's volleyball were
Taylor MacCuish,
Madalyn Miller, and
Mallory Pazin. All three will now be on the ballot for Academic All-American honors.
All-District honors are selected throughout all levels of four-year collegiate athletics, from NCAA Division I down to NAIA. Teams are broken into districts based on region. Jessup sits in District Four of the NAIA.
For MacCuish and Miller, the accolades are added on top of a selection to the All-GSAC team earlier this month. All three were honored for their academic achievements as both Daktronics NAIA and GSAC Scholar-Athletes.
MacCuish (Kinesiology), competing in her third season with the Warriors, resisted 195 kills and 58 blocks this season. The MB/PIN recorded a season-high 15 kills against Menlo College on October 22. Her season-high five blocks came in Jessup's early season sweep of Chico State on August 25.
Miller (Undecided) totaled her season-high 18 kills in Jessup's reverse sweep of Westmont on Senior Day. The sophomore PIN finished with double-digit kills in 16 matches. She finished the season with 266 kills (2.69/set) and 31 blocks.
Pazin (Psychology), Jessup's senior setter, wrapped up her final collegiate season with a team-leading 546 assists (5.25/set) to pair with 204 digs. Her season-high 32 assists came in a 3-1 victory over Life Pacific on October 8. Pazin was voted GSAC Setter of the Week on September 12.
The 2022 CSC Academic All-American team will be announced on December 21 at 9 a.m. (PST).
