LOMPOC, Calif. – Jessup's spring season teed off this week, with the Warriors making the trip to Southern California for Westmont College's Warrior Invitational. Competing at La Purisma Golf Course, the Warriors saw improvements on day two as they wrapped up tournament play.
Monday and Tuesday marked the first competition for Jessup since the first week of February, when the Warriors competed in the PCH Invitational.
In the men's competition, the Warriors improved their stroke play in round two but finished in sixth position as a team. Leading Jessup was
Juan Crespo (T19), who moved up four positions from his finish in round one.
Also competing for the Jessup men were Dominic Salamone (27),
Joseph Mintmier (30),
Drake Kovaly (35), and
Jake Thompson (36).
In the women's competition, the Warriors took sixth place as a team. Jessup improved by 15 strokes from day one to two, moving up a position on the leaderboard in the process.
Clarissa Zulueta (T23) led the Warriors, improving her second-round score by eight strokes.
Mackinzie Uribe (T23) was also tied as the leader from Jessup.
Macy Anderson (33),
Tiffany Van Vranken (T34), and
Irene Logan (T36) rounded out the field.
The Warriors will not compete again until late March when they visit San Diego for the San Diego Christian College Invitational. Three tournaments remain on the schedule before the GSAC Championship on April 25.
