LOMPOC, Calif. – Day one of the Golden State Athletic Conference Championship has come and gone from La Purisma Golf Course. The three day tournament got underway Monday as golfers throughout the conference look to take home the honors of GSAC Golfer of the Year.
 
In the driver's seat through the first round of play is Connor Scissons (-1) of Arizona Christian on the men's side. Dasa Urbankova (+2) of Menlo College holds a one stroke lead for first in the women's tournament.
 
The Jessup men are in eighth place currently, sitting nine strokes back as a team of Westmont College. OUAZ hold a narrow one shot advantage over The Master's University for first place in team scoring.
 
Menlo leads the women's tournament by four strokes over OUAZ through day one. The Warriors are currently in eighth, 11 shots behind Arizona Christian.
 
Competing for the Jessup men this week is Juan Crespo who shot the best individual round of the team, a round of 79 (+7). He sits in a tie for 14. Dominic Salomone (32, +13), Joseph Mintmier (33, +15), and Jake Thompson (38, +31), round out the field for the Warriors.
 
The top score for the Jessup women came via Clarissa Zulueta who's round of 90 (+18) has her in a tie for 17. Mackinzie Uribe (T28, +24), Macy Anderson (35, +34), Irene Logan (36, +37), and Tiffany Van Vranken (37, +38) make up the competing field for Jessup.
 
The GSAC Championship consists of three days of 18 holes, wrapping up on Wednesday, April 27.
