LOMPOC, Calif. – Day two of the 2022 GSAC Golf Championship has wrapped up from Lompoc's La Purisma Golf Course. With just 18 holes remaining, there is work to do for a Warriors squad that sits in eighth place in both the men's and women's tournaments.
Dominic Salomone saw the best improvement of the Jessup men with his round two score. Shaving off six strokes from his Monday round, Salomone shot 79 (+7) to move up to a tie for 21 on the leaderboard.
The remaining field of Jessup men included
Juan Crespo (29, +24),
Joseph Mintmier (32, +28), and
Jake Thompson (38, +60).
Leading the men's tournament is Joshua Kehl of The Master's University after a Tuesday round of even park. He holds a one-shot advantage over Menlo College's Nicolas-Guy Landry. TMU move into first place as a team, leading Ottawa University (AZ) by just two strokes.
In the women's field,
Clarissa Zulueta continues to lead the Warriors (27, +45). Others in the field include
Mackinzie Uribe (T28, +47),
Tiffany Van Vranken (T33, +69),
Irene Logan (T35, +72), and
Macy Anderson (T35, +72).
Ottawa and Menlo sit in a tie for first in team scoring entering the final round. Dasa Urbankova of Menlo takes an eight-shot lead into the final round of play.
The final round of the season will take place tomorrow, with another round of 18 holes being played to decide the tournament winners and GSAC Golfer of the Year.
