Miller Selected to the All-GSAC Team

Junior Madalyn Miller becomes a two-time All-GSAC selection; Lisa Fowkes named co-Assistant Coach of the Year

ROCKLIN, Calif. – With the postseason starting up this weekend for fall sports, news of All-Conference honors are starting to come in from the conference office. As announced this morning by the GSAC, two members of the Jessup volleyball team are being honored with conference recognition.

Earning a spot on the All-GSAC team for the second year in a row is junior Madalyn Miller. Miller led the Warriors with 233 kills in the 2023 season, a mark that puts her in the top 10 for the conference. Her 258.5 points are also top-10 in the GSAC.

The third-year pin saw her best game come on September 9, totaling 20 kills in a victory over Arizona Christian. Miller recorded double-digit kills 13 times this season, with Jessup going 9-4 in those matches.

Miller also earned a spot on the All-GSAC team in 2022, a year that saw the Warriors claim the GSAC Championship and earn a spot in the NAIA Opening Round.

Also being recognized by the conference office is assistant coach Lisa Fowkes.

Fowkes, now in her second season at Jessup, joins Eric Ballelos of Menlo College as the GSAC's two Assistant Coach of the Year recipients. Fowkes follows in the footsteps of head coach Tiger Shelton, who earned Coach of the Year honors last season.

The Warriors have won 28 matches since Fowkes joined the bench, posting a winning percentage of .596 during that time. Jessup will look to improve on that mark when they return to the GSAC Tournament later this week.

Jessup drew the fifth seed in the 2023 GSAC Tournament, squaring them up with The Master's University in the opening round. That contest is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Thursday.

The 2023 GSAC Tournament takes place at Life Pacific University in San Dimas. Miller and Fowkes will be honored for their achievements before Jessup's match on Thursday.
