SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Needing one win to keep their season alive, the Warriors had a tough test in front of them as they took on No. 5 ranked Westmont on Saturday. Unfortunately, Saturday marks the end of the season for Jessup, as they fall 81-44.
The Warriors end year two under head coach
Corey Laster with an overall record of 14-13. Jessup finished 9-9 within the GSAC.
Leading Jessup in the final game of the season was
Natalie Moulos, as the sophomore score 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting. She also pulled down nine boards.
Andrea Jovicevic wraps up her first season with Jessup scoring nine points to pair with six rebounds.
Jessup's lone senior,
Jennifer Pedretti, played 12 minutes in her final game.
Westmont finishes the season 23-2 overall. As winners of the GSAC regular season championship, Westmont clinches an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament. Westmont will be looking to win the national championship for the second time in three seasons.
Jessup shot 38.6 percent from the floor, compared to a 41.6 percent showing from Westmont.
The Warriors could have clinched a spot in the GSAC Tournament with a win or an ACU loss, but with ACU taking down OUAZ on Saturday the end of Jessup's 2022-23 season has come.
