WHITTIER, Calif. – Fresh off a victory in Thousand Oaks yesterday, the Warriors resumed their spring break road trip on Wednesday, visiting the Whittier Poets. The trip could not have started any better for the second-year men's tennis program as Jessup beat the Poets 5-2.

Jessup, now one game off .500 at 4-5, has won back-to-back for the second time this season. They previously won two straight to start a road trip in Oregon earlier in the season.

The point for doubles play was earned by Jessup after the Warriors won two-of-three. The duo of
Roger Wen and
Kadyn Silva were victorious in the first spot, 8-2, while
Sam Smith and
Austrebeto Carlon also picked up the victory in their match, 8-7.

Isaac Graves and
Tanner Sitanggang narrowly dropped their match 6-8.

Singles action saw Smith pick up another victory as he beat Luke Van Den Hoek in straight sets (6-3, 6-3). Carlon swept his match over Ahmed Amer to give the Warriors another point (6-0, 6-0). The third point came via
Mihnea Secara after he beat Yash Nagdev in straight sets (6-4, 6-3).

Graves would earn the fifth point, winning by default after splitting the first two sets.

Jessup is not done with their time in Whittier just yet, as tomorrow, the women's team will take on the Poets. The match is scheduled for 3 p.m. and is the rescheduled date from Monday's rainout.

The men's team resumes action on Friday when they take on Arizona Christian in Glendale, Ariz.
