ROSEVILLE, Calif. - Jessup Men's and Women's Tennis were back at it in the 2025-26 season, competing in their second season in NCAA Division II and the PacWest Conference. Despite a challenging season against tough opponents, there were several highlight matches and moments that these athletes will look back on fondly.

After several exhibition games over the fall and the beginning of the spring, the Warriors kicked off their 2026 campaign on February 6, as Women's Tennis took on Dominican University on the Warriors' home court in Roseville and then faced Stanislaus State in Turlock the next day. Both matches ended 7-0 in favor of the opposition, the first official results of the season that was now officially underway. The men's team would begin their season two weeks later in Roseville against the Menlo Oaks, with another 7-0 defeat signaling the beginning of the official competition slate. The first points of the season would come a day later against Fresno Pacific, as the men would tally two points, contributed by Joren Stevens in a singles match and the duo of Stevens and Mario Curiel in a doubles match.

As the month of February continued, the Warriors kept fighting hard against their opponents, but ultimately falling short of wins. That would change as the calendar turned to March, with both the men's and women's squads recording their first victories of the season on March 15. Both teams would take on PacWest opponents, with the men facing California Lutheran, and the women facing Chaminade. Both matches would end by a score of 4-3 in favor of the Warriors, providing a spark of momentum for both teams. Tanner Sitanggang and Caleb Poling would record a doubles match victory along with Joren Stevens and Mario Curiel, and Stevens and Curiel would also record pivotal singles match victories to take the match for Jessup. On the women's side, Briana Smith and Giselli Reschke would take down a doubles match, while Smith, Rylie Maloney, Danielle Akabane, and Maria Antonella Cardenas would all win crucial singles matches to take down the Silverswords. The high vibes would continue a week later, as the men's team recorded a dominant 7-0 win on the road against Fresno City College for their second victory in a row.

On April 2 against Westmont College, Johnson Ranch Sports Club in Roseville would host senior day for Jessup's men's and women's tennis teams in their final home game of the season. Seniors Riley Maloney, Caleb Poling, Joren Stevens, Marc Charlanne, Tanner Sitanggang, Cole Spake, Henrique Levy, and Danielle Akabane were honored before the match for their dedication and contributions to Jessup Tennis. Both matches would end 7-0 in favor of Westmont.
A week and a half later, on April 13, Jessup would play their final games of the 2026 season, and as a program. The month prior, the university announced the discontinuation of the men's and women's tennis programs, signaling the end of a significant chapter in Jessup Athletics history. The final matches would take place in Atherton against the Menlo Oaks, with the men falling 5-2 and the women 7-0. Joren Stevens and Lucas Pham delivered key singles points, but they were not enough to secure the match.

Jessup Tennis closes its chapter after eight seasons, with four of those years as a women's-only program before the addition of men's tennis in 2022. The program has been a vital asset to the university's many athletic teams and has boasted incredible accomplishments both on and off the court. The 2026 season was a memorable sendoff to the team's seniors, student-athletes, and the program as a whole.
