ROCKLIN, Calif. – With just over a week to go before the Warriors open up the 2023 season, it's time to introduce the newest members of the roster. Looking to leave the NAIA on a high note, head coach 
Greg Lazaga has added eight new faces to his squad entering the upcoming campaign.
 
The 2023 Warriors will see five incoming freshmen join the lineup, along with a trio of college transfers.
 
ALBERT BARILLAS | CERRITOS, CALIF. | ROGUE CC
 
Albert Barillas joins the Warriors out of Cerritos. Barillas played three seasons on the varsity roster at St. Paul HS, where he was a two-time MVP, first-team All-Conference selection, Defensive Player of the Year, and captain. Barillas continued his soccer career at Southern Oregon University and Rogue CC. He was named a team captain while at Rogue.
 
Barillas, a Business major, plans to start his own personal chef business. Away from soccer, he enjoys fishing, films, and cooking. Barillas said he chose Jessup because of the team and the Christ-centered belief.
 
MAXIMAS GANESH | MARKHAM, ONTARIO | ST. MICHAEL'S COLLEGE SCHOOL
 
Coming to the Warriors out of Markham, Ontario, is defender 
Maximas Ganesh. Ganesh attended St. Michael's College School, where he played two varsity seasons. During that time, Ganesh's squad finished as CISSA Champions in 2019.
 
Ganesh, who is currently undecided on his major, said he plans to be a lawyer for his career. He enjoys cooking and playing basketball. When asked why he chose Jessup, Ganesh said Jessup allowed him to pursue an education while playing the game he loves.
 
JEFFREY GARCIA | LOOMIS, CALIF. | FOLSOM LAKE COLLEGE
 
Joining the Warriors' backline this season is junior defender 
Jeffrey Garcia. Garcia comes to the Warriors after beginning his collegiate career at Folsom Lake College. Before joining the Falcons, Garcia attended Del Oro HS, where he played two seasons on the varsity roster.
 
Garcia appeared in four games during the 2019-20 season at Folsom Lake College. In those four games, Garcia's side managed to go 3-0-1.
 
EDUARDO GUILLEN | LODI, CALIF. | TOKAY HS
 
Eduardo Guillen comes to Jessup out of Lodi and Tokay HS and Holy Names University. Guillen, a midfielder, played two seasons on the varsity roster at Tokay, where he was named TCAL Midfielder of the Year. He added Tokay HS Athlete of the Year honors as well.
 
Guillen comes to Jessup to earn his M.A. in Business Administration. His hobbies include traveling and music. When asked why he chose Jessup, Guillen noted that he wanted to play for coach Lazaga and join the Jessup community.
 
DYLAN HER | ELK GROVE, CALIF. | COSUMNES RIVER COLLEGE
 
Defender 
Dylan Her joins the Warriors after beginning his career with Cosumnes River College. Her was a member of two Big 8 Championships and was named Second-Team All-Conference. During his high school career at Franklin HS, Her won the CATS Award.
 
Her comes to Jessup to study Business. When asked why he chose Jessup, Her added, "I saw how great the school was and how much I can get out of the school. I also wanted to help the men's soccer team compete to get a banner before joining Division II." Her added that he enjoys spending time with family and playing games.
 
ISRAEL LANGLOIS | DALY CITY, CALIF. | LINCOLN HS
 
Midfielder 
Israel Langlois comes to Jessup out of Daly City. In four seasons with Lincoln HS, Langlois earned two spots on the First-Team All-League. He was also a member of a Sac Joaquin section championship.
 
A Business major, Langlois said he hopes to play professional soccer and own his own business. Away from soccer, he enjoys designing. When asked why he chose Jessup, Langlois stated, "I heard great things about their programs for my education, and it sounded like a great school."
 
GAVIN SHEN | YORBA LINDA, CALIF. | ORANGE LUTHERAN HS
 
Freshman forward Gaven Shin comes to the Warriors out of Yorba Linda. Shin, a three-year varsity athlete with Orange Lutheran HS, was named Second-Team All-League and CIF-SS First-Team. His team won the CIF Championship and Regional Championship.
 
Shin, who is undecided on his major, said he hopes to play professional soccer. The soccer program, along with the school and surrounding area, is what led Shin to Jessup. He added that he enjoys drawing, photography, and music.
 
ANDREW YANG | WHEATLAND, CALIF. | WHEATLAND UNION HS
 
A midfielder out of Wheatland, 
Andrew Yang comes to Jessup to start his collegiate career. While at Wheatland HS, where he played three seasons on the varsity roster, Yang was named team MVP as his team reached the state finals.
 
Yang said his plan is to join the nursing program while at Jessup. Yang enjoys volleyball and games when he is not on the soccer field. The class sizes Jessup offers and the soccer program is what led him to Jessup.
 
The eight newcomers will get their first official chance to compete on Friday, August 18, as Jessup opens the season at the University of Saint Katherine. Jessup's first home match will be on August 25 against the College of Idaho.
