FRESNO, Calif. – The Jessup University Men's Soccer (1-7-3, PacWest 0-5-0) team showcased impressive fortitude in their draw at Fresno Pacific on Wednesday night, 3-3.
Jessup's offense began the night strong with the game's initial score at the 31:07 mark. Luis Cruz found the back of the net for his second goal of the season with an assist from Aidan Vangelatos. After halftime, the Warriors doubled their advantage with a score from Sergio Medina at the 56:23 minute. The Sunbirds cut the deficit in half with their inaugural goal on the night from Brandon Lopez at 59:13, assisted by Jacob Ramirez.
Jessup immediately responded five minutes later to regain their two goal lead. At 64:24, Jordee Magana scored the Warriors third goal of the night. Fresno Pacific tallied their second goal of the night from Chris Meza at 74:38 to come within one. With time running out, Zion Vaughn for the Sunbirds tied the high scoring affair at 82:53. While this matchup was a non-conference appearance, the two teams will meet on October 24th for a PacWest conference meeting.
Head Coach Greg Lazaga shared encouraging words following the game, "The focus and intensity our Warriors showed today was next level. From the press to the rhythm on the ball it was evident we came to win. It's not easy to walk away without the result we wanted but we leave with pride knowing we gave it our all and scored some sensational goals." He continued, "We still have more season left. We will reflect on the lessons from this game, reflect on what went well and we will keep working together as we continue our path down the narrow road."
The Warriors will return home to Warrior Field on Saturday, October 18, 2025, to host a PacWest Conference matchup against Dominican University of California. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 PM.
