ROCKLIN, Calif. – Head coach Mark Darnall and his staff are partnering with Coaches vs. Cancer this week, as the Jessup bench will take on a new look as part of the Suits and Sneakers initiative. The Jessup coaching staff will do their part to raise awareness about the fight against cancer as they take on Life Pacific on Thursday night.
 
Suits and Sneakers is an annual tradition on the Jessup schedule as coaches join in the fight against cancer. The event is in collaboration with the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and the American Cancer Association.
 
Each year, the final week of January is designated as Coaches vs. Cancer Week. Schools have the opportunity to pick one home game as their Suits and Sneakers contest, as the Warriors chose their Thursday affair with LPU. The coaching staff of Life Pacific have also been extended an invitation to participate.

"We're excited to partner with Life Pacific and take part in Coaches vs. Cancer this year," said Darnall. "This is a great cause to support, and on Thursday night, our staff is looking forward to wearing Suits and Sneakers to raise awareness. We encourage people to donate to the American Cancer Society so one day we can find a cure for cancer."
 
The 2023-24 season is a milestone for Coaches vs. Cancer, as this is its 30th anniversary. The first Coaches vs. Cancer event was held in 1993 by Missouri coach Norm Stewart. Over those 30 years, Coaches vs. Cancer has raised over $155 million to support the American Cancer Society.
 
Coaches across the nation participating in Suits and Sneakers Week are doing their part to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. Fans can also do their part by making a donation to the American Cancer Association HERE.
 
Fans can also join the conversation digitally by using #suitup on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). The "I Suit Up For" campaign allows for coaches and student-athletes to share a person in their life affected by cancer and designate them as the one they suit up for.
 
Tickets for Thursday night's game are still on sale HERE. Thursday will also be Old Town Pizza night, as official partners of Jessup Athletics OTP will be in the building selling pizza slices at the front gate.
