TMU Hands Jessup its First Home Loss of the Season

Jessup got within one point in the fourth quarter; The Warriors will make their final GSAC trip to Arizona next week

ROCKLIN, Calif. - Coming into the day riding a perfect record on their home floor, the Warriors hosted The Master's University on Saturday as the GSAC season met its midway point. The Warriors pieced together a great second-half run, but it wasn't enough, as TMU charged late to take a 73-66 win.

The day saw the Warriors play from behind for the majority of the 40-minute contest, as just three lead changes occurred. TMU saw their largest lead come with 7:43 to play in the third, as they pushed their advantage to 13.

But back came the Warriors in the fourth quarter, as they came charging out of the gates.

Jessup opened the quarter on an 8-2 run, capped off by a Natalie Moulos layup to get within one point. Jessup would score to get within one a few times in the final frame, but they couldn't convert on the basket to give them the lead.

TMU ended the game on an 8-0 run as they pulled away to the victory.

Leading the Warriors in scoring was South Carolina native Neomi Davidson, who dropped 14 points on 7-of-19 from the floor. Davidson also added five boards.

Also coming up big was Kayla Vieira, as she added 13 points. Vieira was a sharpshooter down the stretches as she knocked down a perfect 3-of-3 from distance. Jessup knocked down five triples as a team.

The Mustangs were led by Nicole Chaung, who scored 18 points on 6-for-11 from three.

Up next is the Warriors' final trip to Arizona for GSAC competition, as Jessup takes on Arizona Christian and OUAZ for the second time. The trip starts with a visit to ACU in Glendale on Thursday, with tip-off scheduled for 4:30 p.m. (PST).

The Warriors will be back in Rocklin on February 8 when they host Hope International.
