Overtime Battle Sees Jessup Win their 11th Straight

Jessup stays perfect at home, improving to 9-0 on Horton Court; Jovicevic drops 25 points in the victory

ROCKLIN, Calif. – The GSAC season rolled into Saturday as Jessup put their perfect home record on the line against the visiting Arizona Christian Firestorm. Through four quarters, the scoreboard showed a tie, but overtime as all Jessup as the Warriors won again, this time by the final of 88-83.

Jessup improves to 15-1 on the season as they improve their win streak to 11 games. At home, the Warriors remain perfect, moving to 9-0.

Guard Andrea Jovicevic led the way once again as she dropped 25 points, adding ten boards for her third double-double of the season. Neomi Davidson also finished with a double-double as she scored 17 points to pair with 11 rebounds.

Makaila Napoleon also added 17 points in her 27 minutes off the bench. Kayla Vieira contributed 11 boards.

Arizona Christian was sparked by a record-breaking performance by Alyssa Alvarez as she put up 46 points to set a new single-game record for ACU women's basketball. Alvarez connected on 7-of-12 from distance.

Jessup shot 46.5 percent from the field in the opening half as they took an eight-point lead into the locker room. The lead sat at six heading into the third, setting up a comeback by the Firestorm in the fourth to send the contest to overtime.

The Warriors flipped a switch heading into overtime, scoring the first nine points to pull ahead 88-79. ACU would score four straight in the final minute, but it wasn't enough to steal the win away from the Warriors.

Now 2-0 in the GSAC, the Warriors will hit the road next week as they take on Vanguard and Hope International. The Lions are currently ranked No. 10 in the nation, but a new NAIA Coaches' Poll will be dropped on Wednesday.

Jessup received votes in the last poll released by the NAIA.

The Warriors will be back home on Horton Court on November 25 when they host Life Pacific.
