SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The Warriors traveled to the Bay Area for the San Francisco State Invitational to begin the weekend. The one-day contest was raced by both the men's and women's cross-country teams. The men were one of twelve teams, and the women were one of eleven teams that competed.
The men's team competed in an 8k and came in 11th overall on the team leaderboard.
Junior Zachary Heberlein posted the best time for Jessup (28:34.2), coming in 72nd overall. Other Warriors who competed included Devon Hammeke (30:25.7), Ethan Loomis (31:04.3), Antonio Leal (34:21.6), and Oscar Duncan Jr. (34:57.5).
The men came in 11th overall as a team, posting a total time of 2:39:23.31.
Today, the women's cross country team also took the field, competing among nine other competing schools.
With a final individual time of 24:57.8 in the 6k women's race, Cheyenne Ullrich placed the best for the Warriors in the Friday contest.
Among Ullrich, other Warriors were Tayla Starr (26:45.4), Alexis Housh (32:35.5), Lydia Kang (33:25.1), and Erica Waseq (34:13.5), and Jaylee Hamiester (37:03.7)
Next up for Jessup will be the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational on October 19th in Sunnyvale, California. This will be the final race of the season before the PacWest Championships.
