GREENVILLE, S.C. – The national office of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced on Thursday the members of its All-American team. Two Warriors have earned Second-Team honors, as
Donovan Carrillo and
Sophia Patterson represent Jessup University on the list.
Both Carrillo and Patterson recently completed their final season of eligibility with the Warriors and were previously named to the NCCAA West Region team. The 2024 season was Jessup's first competing as a member of NCAA Division II and the NCCAA.
Carrillo appeared in 17 matches this season, starting 16 of those. He dished out two assists, both coming in the program's first-ever victory against Westmont College. Carrillo split his time between the midfield and backline and led the Warriors these last two seasons as a team captain.
In five seasons with the Warriors, Carrillo was a two-time All-GSAC selection and appeared in a Jessup-record 77 matches.
Patterson led the Jessup backline in her senior campaign, as she finished the season with 999 minutes of action on the pitch. The defender started 11 matches, adding five more appearances off the bench.
In three seasons on the pitch, Patterson appeared in 43 matches, with 30 starts. Patterson was a member of the only women's soccer team in Jessup history to qualify for the GSAC Tournament and scored one collegiate goal during that 2021 campaign.
