Sweep Punches Jessup’s Ticket to the National Championship Match

Jessup outscored Bethel 50-23 in the final two sets; The Warriors have won 12 of 13 sets this week

POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. — Jessup's ticket to the 2024 NCCAA Division I Women's Volleyball National Championship match has been punched. Backed by the Warriors' third sweep in four matches, Jessup took down the Bethel Pilots to set up a rematch with Grace.

Grace College, who the Warriors swept on Thursday to close out pool play, eliminated top seeded Columbia International to begin Friday.

The Warriors dominated from start to finish in Friday's victory against the Pilots. A 7-0 run by Jessup in the first set placed them ahead 13-6, and while Bethel climbed back to narrow the score, the Warriors were still able to win the opening set 25-22, capped off on a kill from Eliana Sheridan

Set two would not be as close, as Jessup cruised their way to a 25-11 victory. They followed that up with a 25-12 decision in the third, as they out scored the Pilots 50-23 in the final two sets.

The second set saw Jessup piece together a 16-3 run to pull away. Set three saw an 11-3 Jessup run that again put their advantage out of Bethel's reach.

Jessup was led offensively by 12 kills from Madalyn Miller. Sheridan added nine, and Taylor MacCuish also finished with eight. The Warriors also scored at the service line, finishing with eight aces. Paulina Harris led the way with three.

The Warriors also showed dominance at the net, led by Carolena Bogdanovich who finished with five blocks. Taylor and Jordyn MacCuish both added a pair of blocks.

Now 18-12 in their first season under head coach Kyle Steele, the Warriors will look for win number 19 tomorrow as the season meets its end in Missouri. Jessup's rematch with Grace, who are the defending NCCAA National Champions, is scheduled for 10 a.m. (PST).
