ROCKLIN, Calif. – The two-time reigning national champions were in action on their home mats for the first time this season as a capacity crowd filed in to see Jessup take on UC Davis. Jessup gave their home fans what they paid to see, as a 22-4 victory moves the Warriors to 4-1 on the season.
Jessup also improves to 3-0 all-time against the Aggies.
The Warriors scored every point that was up for grabs in the first three quarters, as Jessup entered the fourth leading 12-2. It was a perfect sweep in the first quarter, and the Warriors pushed that lead to 5-0 before Davis claimed their first point by splitting routine two of quarter two.
In the third, Jessup built up their 8-1 halftime lead to 11-1, as the final routine would again see a split. This time it was routine one that both sides claimed a point, as the action moved into the fourth quarter with Jessup ahead 12-2.
The Warriors swept the board to start the fourth, claiming three points off routine four. The first hiccup of the night came at the start of routine two as Jessup failed to score the first point, earning just two. The third routine of the fourth quarter saw Jessup grab three points to Davis' one, and then in the final routine, Davis got their first win as they took the first point of routine three.
Jessup won the fourth quarter 8-3.
