Cross Country Competes in Saturday Night Meet

The Warriors look to host the Jessup Invitational next week on September 28th

CERES, Calif. - A late night was set for men's and women's cross country as they competed in the Kim Duyst Twilight Invitational on Saturday night. 

The Saturday night field included the opposing teams of Chico State, Stanislaus State, San Francisco State, UC Merced, De Anza, and Dominican. 

The women were one of seven teams competing in the Twilight Invitational placing 5th overall. Of those competing on the women's side were freshman Tayla Starr, placing highest for the Warriors on the 6k individual results running a time of 25:12. 

The other Warriors that ran for Jessup were Elizabeth Caminiti (25:38), Cheyenne Ullrich (25:50), Alexis Housh (32:12), Lydia Kang (32:49), Erica Waseq (36:43), and Jaylee Hamiester (37:15). Jessup tallied a total of 168 points on the night. 

The men's side placed 6th overall with a final score of 175 points. Zachary Heberlein was the top finisher for the Warriors finishing the individual 8k in a final time of 27:36. 

The other Warriors included Devon Hammeke (28:14), Ethan Loomis (29:44), Antonio Leal (31:22), and Oscar Duncan Jr. (36:22). 

The Warriors will host the Jessup Invitational next week, September 28th, with the men beginning at 9:15 a.m. and the women starting at 9:55 a.m.
