Warriors Continue Bay Area Road Stint at Academy of Art

Janssan leads the Warriors with 13 points and 9 rebounds; The Warriors visit Menlo next week

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The second of three consecutive games in the Bay Area wrapped up on Saturday with the Warriors visiting the Urban Knights of Academy of Art. With the Warriors looking for the season, the Urban Knights struck their revenge with an 85-77 victory.
 
The win/loss sends the Warriors to 4-5 in their inaugural Division II campaign.
 
Jessup was led in the scoring column by Aydan Janssan with 13 points on 5-of-8 from the field. Janssan also led the Warriors in rebounding, finishing one shy of a double-double with nine. The Warriors lost the rebound battle, 37-35.
 
Others contributing for Jessup included a trio of players in double-figures. Cayden McDaniel came off the bench to score a dozen. Wyatt Studer added 11 points in 23 minutes off the bench, and Ja'Maris Blackmon finished with ten.
 
Academy of Art was led by Robbie Armbrester, who dropped 25 points. Four other players finished in double-digits.
 
The Urban Knights scored the first basket of the game on Saturday and then proceeded to hold the lead for the remainder of the game, as Jessup never led in the contest. Art's lead touched as high as 19 points. The Urban Knights ended the day shooting 46 percent from the floor.
 
Jessup shot 51 percent, with the first half seeing a 62.5 percent performance from the field.
 
The Warriors' Bay Area trip will commence on Thursday, January 23, with a visit to Atherton to take on the Menlo Oaks. Jessup defeated the Oaks in their previous meeting on Horton Court. Following that matchup, Jessup will return home for Old Town Pizza Day on January 25.
 
The January 25 home date will see Azusa Pacific make their first PacWest visit to Rocklin.
