Jessup Returns to Rocklin After Three Game Road Trip

Blackmon scores 17 points to lead Jessup; The Warriors will host Azusa Pacific on Saturday

ATHERTON, Calif. – Jessup's three-game stint in the Bay Area concluded on Thursday with the Warriors paying a visit to Menlo College. Looking for a season sweep of the Oaks, Jessup leaves with a series split, as Menlo took the game, 74-61.

The Warriors are now 7-9 overall on the year, with their record in PacWest action sitting at 4-6. Jessup is also still in search of their first victory away from Warrior Arena, as the Warriors are now 0-8 in contests outside of Rocklin.

They will get their next shot at a road victory on January 30 against Fresno Pacific.

Jessup connected on 37 percent from the floor on Thursday, but their offensive production was hindered by a 41 percent night at the free throw line. Menlo countered Jessup's performance by shooting 42 percent from the field and 68 percent at the line.

Guard Ja'Maris Blackmon led the Warriors with 17 points on Thursday. Tamatoa Humbert was behind him with 14 points in his 22 minutes off the bench. Aydan Janssan once again led the rebounding effort with 11, his seventh time eclipsing ten boards this season.

Menlo was paced by 16 Landon Seaman points. Nick Davidson was behind him with 15. Two other Oaks ended the night in double figures.

With Thursday night's result, Jessup now sees their lead in the all-time series with Menlo move to 26-20. The Warriors have won six of the last ten meetings, including earlier this season in Rocklin. The two will not meet again until next season, as both programs are ineligible for PacWest postseason play due to their NCAA provisional status.

Jessup will be back in action on Saturday when they welcome Azusa Pacific to Warrior Arena. In their previous meeting, APU claimed an 86-79 victory in overtime.

Saturday's contest will be Old Town Pizza Day, as Jessup Athletics recognizes one of our corporate partners. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m.
