SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – The Jessup Women's volleyball team (6-7, 1-1 PacWest) secured a dominant conference road victory against Dominican University on Wednesday night, 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-21).
The Warriors visited the bay area to take on the Dominican University Penguins in their second PacWest conference appearance. Jessup swept the Penguins in three competitive and narrow victorious sets.
The match began with a tight first set, with the Warriors pushing through a late rally by the Penguins to take a narrow 25-23 win. Jessup then settled into a rhythm, maintaining control through the second and third frames to seal the sweep. The Warriors finished the night with a total of 47 kills.
Jessup's offense was potent and balanced, with a pair of Warriors leading the attack. Addisen Hamilton led the charge with 15 kills on the night with Eliana Sheridan just behind her with 14. Setter Kenzie Carpenter ran the offense efficiently, tallying an impressive 32 assists. Three Warriors finished with double digit digs in Jayden Santos (17), Sheridan (12) and Carpenter (10).
Head Coach Kyle Steele was proud of his team's performance, "Glad we could get that conference counter match in the win column to start this tough stretch of matches. We are improving daily and it's fun to see the benefits of that."
The Warriors will look to carry this momentum forward as they return home to Warrior Arena this Saturday, October 11th, when the team hosts the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds in a conference dual.
