SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Jessup University Warriors (11-12, 5-6 PacWest) showed resilience but ultimately fell short on the road, dropping a four-set decision to the Point Loma Nazarene University Sea Lions (22-3, 10-1 PacWest) (17-25, 25-20, 22-25, 22-25) on Wednesday night at Golden Gymnasium, 3-1.

Jessup fought hard to match the Sea Lions' intensity in front of a spirited crowd, but late offensive pushes by PLNU in the third and fourth sets secured the victory for the home side. After dropping the opening set 16-25, the Warriors responded with the energy and execution that has defined their recent success. Jessup took the second frame 25-20 to tie the affair at a set apiece. 

The remainder of the match turned into a pair of tightly contested battles. In both the third and fourth sets, Jessup was within striking distance, tying the score 22 times throughout the contest, but PLNU managed to secure the final points to win both sets, 25-22.

The Warriors' offensive attack was distributed effectively, resulting in 50 total team kills, powered by an incredible performance from Addie Hamilton. She recorded nearly half of the team's kills with 22 of her own along with service ace and three block assists. Kenzie Carpenter led Jessup with 30 assists as well as tallying two service aces and nine digs. Lauren Toon had the most digs for the Warriors with 18. 

While the Warriors ultimately fell to Point Loma, the defensive effort and balanced attack highlighted the team's ability to compete with top programs on the road. The Warriors will now look to rebound in their final appearance of the season at Westmont College on Saturday, November 15th. First serve will be at 7:30pm.
