ROCKLIN, Calif. - Coming fresh from a two-time selection pick of PacWest Team of the Week, the Warriors continued their hot streak as they downed the visiting Golden Eagles of Concordia University-Irvine. This victory pushes Jessup's win streak to four straight in a final score of 64-49.
Jessup sits at .500 on the year, 13-13 overall, and 8-10 in conference play.
The Warriors' current stretch consisted of a road trip in the 808 state, where they won 3 of the four games played. In the last three contests, Jessup downed Hawaii foes Chaminade University, University of Hawaii Hilo, and Hawaii Pacific University to put themselves back in the win column.
The Warriors continued that stretch by winning against the Golden Eagles on home court. Concordia currently sits in last place in the PacWest conference standings.
Jessup commanded the game from the start, outscoring Concordia 16-6 in the first quarter. That set the scoring tone for the entire game, as Jessup never had to come from behind. Jessup did, however, give up 23 turnovers, but they were able to complete a victorious win in a final score of 64-49.
Giselle Dogan lit up the scoreboard for the Warriors with a respectable 23 points on the night. In her 21 minutes of play, she recorded 23 points, five rebounds, four assists, 2-for-2 from the free throw line, 5 three-pointers, and 8-for-12 from the field. Dogan was one three-pointer away from tying the Jessup single-game three-point record.
On the defensive end for the Warriors,
Kayla Vieira recorded 10 rebounds and 6 points on the night. Dogan and
Amari Guiton were right behind her, both tallying five rebounds on the night.
The Warriors only have two games remaining in their inaugural season in the PacWest conference. They will return home for a weekend matchup against University Hawaii Hilo this Saturday at noon. Senior day will be on March 1st to conclude the 2024-2025 season.
