ROCKLIN, Calif. - In the first season at Jessup University, the Warriors of the men's volleyball team took the court at Horton Court. A packed home crowd welcomed the first time team at Jessup as they took on UC Merced. The Warriors would fall to the Bobcats in a final score of 3-0.
 
Under the reign of head coach Kyle Steel, the 18th sport at Jessup University was underway at Horton Court after a 2-1 start on the season. This loss to the visiting Bobcats of UC Merced now makes the Warriors 2-2 on the season. 
 
UC Merced came out the gate in the first set, beating the Warriors 25-11. The second and third sets were battles between the two teams, but they would favor the visiting team, 25-21, and then 25-22. 
 
Jan Lopuch led the Warriors' leaderboard with 13 kills and 28 attacks on the night. As a team, the Warriors tallied 22 kills and five aces in the home opener. 
 
Jessup will face the Bobcats again next week as they drive to UC Merced on February 12th. The Warriors will play again at home tomorrow for some afternoon action against the Oaks of Menlo College at 3:00 PM.
