IRVINE, Calif. – Night one of back-to-back meetings between Jessup and Concordia saw the Warriors battle to four sets inside Irvine's CU Arena. As Jessup's five-match Southern California road trip winds down, the Warriors' stint in Irvine begins with a 3-1 loss.

Jessup is now 6-4 on the season, and they are 2-2 four matches into their road trip.

Carter Depue led the Warriors' attack on Thursday as he totaled 14 kills on a .226-hitting performance.
Jan Lopuch was behind Depue with 11 kills, followed by
Logan Marks (9) and
Owen Henning (8).

Taylor Marks set up the offense with 40 assists, and he led the team defensively with 12 digs.

Concordia saw a trio of players finish the match in double-figures on the offensive end.

Jessup jumped out to an early lead on Thursday thanks to a 25-23 win in the opening set. The Warriors came out of the gate with a 5-2 run, and after a back-and-forth battle throughout much of the set, set point would come on a Lopuch kill.

Concordia bounced back with a 25-17 win in the second and followed it up with a 25-21 win in the third.

The fourth set was another close affair, with the Warriors gaining a lead at the midpoint, sitting at 19-12. But back came CUI, who tied the match at 21 and then proceeded to reach match point at 24-22. Back-to-back Lopuch kills extended the match past 25, but CUI responded with consecutive points of their own to win, 26-24.

Jessup and CUI will meet up again on Friday with match time set for 7 p.m.
