Julia Pisenti broke her own record in the discus; The men’s 4x100m relay team set a record for the third week in a row

04/05/25

BERELEY, Calif. – It was a busy week for Jessup Track & Field as the team split up for three meets. Beginning with multi-event action in Berkeley and ending with two meets across the Bay Area on Saturday, more records were set as Jessup continues to find success in year one at the Division II level.

The highlight of the week came on Saturday at Cal's Brutus Hamilton Invitational when Julia Pisenti posted a mark of 51.87m in the discus. The throw is over a full meter further than her previous PR which was also the program record. Pisenti's new record throw continues to keep her in the lead for Division II.

A second record came in the men's 4x100m relay as the team of Logan Scammell, Christopher Hackney, Lawrence Mitchell-Patterson, and Gianni Miles set a record with a time of 42.21. This is the third week in a row where the Warriors' relay team posted the fastest time in program history.

Scammell added another highlight with a PR in the 400m. Hackney posted two PRs in the 100m and 200m.

Sprinting events also saw PR times from Kyjon Hughes in the 100m and 200m and Karsyn Leikauf in the 100m hurdles. Erica Waseq also made her season debut in the long jump with mark that puts her seventh in program history.

Distance runners were also in action this week as they visited San Francisco for the Mike Fanelli Invitational hosted by San Francisco State.

PRs in San Francisco were made by Madison Sutton in both the 1500m and 800m. Hailey Hopkins posted a PR in the 1500m as well.

The week began with multi-event athletes competing at the Brutus Hamilton Multi-Event in Berkeley. In the field from Jessup were Brock Jedlicka, Jaylee Hameister, and Jocelyn Pedretti.

Track season will continue next week when the Warriors visit Chico State.
