ROCKLIN, Calif. – The record-breaking weekend of Julia Pisenti is being recognized as the sophomore has earned NCCAA Field Athlete of the Week. The award comes after Pisenti broke her own record in the discus at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational in Berkeley.
 
Pisenti's record-breaking throw of 51.87m broke the record she set two weeks ago at the Hornet Invitational in Sacramento (50.83m). She leads all of NCAA Division II with that distance.

The discus was one of four events Pisenti competed in over the weekend. She placed third in the shot put with a top throw of 13.13m and added a fourth-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 39.73m.
 
Pisenti leads the NCCAA in all three of the throwing events she competed in at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational: discus, javelin, and shot put.
 
She also added a ninth-place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 10.46m
 
The weekly award is the third of the season for Pisenti. She was named the first NCCAA Field Athlete of the Week in Jessup history on March 17 and then added PacWest Field Athlete of the Week honors the following week on March 15.
 
Jessup will continue their season this weekend when they travel to Chico for the Chico Invitational.
