TURLOCK, Calif. — Jessup University track and field team put together a strong showing on Saturday at the Kim Duyst Invitational.
The story of the day belonged to Angela Gladysh. Competing in the Women's 5000m run, Gladysh crossed the finish line in first place with a staggering time of 17:47.99. The Warriors also made plenty of noise off the track. Rogelio San Miguel delivered one of the highest finishes of the day for Jessup, soaring to a 2nd-place finish in the Men's High Jump with a mark of 1.95m.
In the jumps, Aurora Osburn secured a 6th-place finish in the Women's Triple Jump, hitting a distance of 10.22m. Ethan Poirier, pulling double-duty on the day, leaped 5.88m to take 14th in the Men's Long Jump.
In the throwing events, Shiloh Vallejos had a stellar outing in the Women's Shot Put, earning a 4th-place finish with a heave of 12.25m. Teammate Jocelyn Pedretti joined her in the top ten, placing 7th with an 11.47m mark, while Kayla Carpenter took 13th (9.29m).
